 Instructor Course: Heartsaver, BLS (CPR & First Aid)
Upon completion of the Instructor Course criteria, instructor candidates will be able to teach American heart Association courses in the discipline selected using the video and lesson maps that are part of the appropriate course instructor materials. Instructor candidates will also be able to use the new testing materials to conduct skills testing.
BLS Instructors- will be able to teach BLS for healthcare provider courses to Physicians, Nurses, CNA?s and other healthcare professionals as well as laypersons.
Heartsaver Instructors- will be able to teach Heartsaver CPR & First Aid courses to Daycares, companies, fitness professionals, teachers, and all laypersons.

Mock Code
This session provides a full code experience for participants in a simulated healthcare environment. The
session provides for hands on code simulations where individuals are able to utilize their critical thinking
skills combined with ACLS/ PALS knowledge to provide care during a simulated code. Interventions
individuals are able to perform are IV / IO insertion, fluid infusions, Chest tube insertion & treatment, basic
& advanced airway insertion & management, Drug administration, Rhythm recognition, defibrillation,
pacing, IM injections, & CPR skills. The elements of team Dynamics and team roles are evaluated &
practiced to help promote a more effective & efficient team when dealing with a code situation.
